FAQ

  • What kinds of videos do you create?

I create short films - little love stories that celebrate you and your loved ones - using your own home videos, digital recordings and family photos. Each film is crafted to tell a personal story—perfect for wedding rehearsal dinners, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, celebration of life services, and legacy gifts.

  • What type of footage do I need?

I work with all kinds of footage—digitized VHS tapes, smartphone videos, digital and hard copy photos, family albums, audio recordings. Whether your memories are stored in old shoeboxes or on your phone, I’ll help you gather everything you need. If your tapes or photos haven’t been digitized yet, I can guide you through that process or recommend trusted services.

  • What if I only have photos?

Yes—some of my favorite films have been made entirely from photos. Whether you have old family albums, scanned prints, or thousands of digital pictures sitting on your phone, I can help shape them into a meaningful short film.

  • How long are the finished films?

Most custom films are between 4 to 10 minutes long, though the final length depends on the story, the occasion, and how much footage you provide. I’ll work with you to find the length that feels right.

  • How much does a custom film cost?

Pricing depends on the length of the film, the type of footage, and the complexity of the edit. Every project is unique, so I’ll work with you to provide a quote that fits your vision, timeline, and budget. More information on investment is available on my “pricing” page.

  • How long does it take to complete a film?

Most films are completed within 4 to 6 weeks after I receive all your footage. Turnaround time depends on the length of the video, the amount of footage, and my current schedule. If you're working with a tight deadline—like a wedding or birthday—I’ll always do my best to accommodate. Rush options may be available.

  • Will I be able to make edits to the film?

Of course. Every film includes one round of revisions. Once you’ve seen the first cut, you can tell me what you love and what you’d like to tweak. I want the final version to feel like you—something personal, meaningful, and worth watching for years to come.

  • Do you digitize old tapes or photos?

I don’t digitize any material myself but I can point you toward a few trusted services that specialize in digitizing VHS tapes, DVDs, and printed photos. If you're not sure where to start, I'm happy to walk you through what you’ll need and how to get it ready. I work with a lot of legacy footage, so you’re definitely not alone in figuring this part out.

  • How are these films played or shared?

Most people choose to play these films during special events— wedding rehearsal dinners, milestone birthdays, anniversaries, or memorials. Others give them as surprise gifts to parents, spouses, or close friends. You’ll receive a high-quality digital file that can be shared easily, played on a screen at a party, or saved as a keepsake.
